About Us
The Undergraduate Investment Group (UIG) is a student-run investment fund at Arizona State University, founded in 2025. UIG manages its own portfolio of approximately $100,000 in assets under management, in collaboration with ASU Enterprise Partners, who provide professional oversight and trade execution. Our approach is rooted in deep, fundamentals-driven research, and we're committed to developing every member's market knowledge and technical skill, regardless of prior experience.
Investment teams are the core of UIG, giving members hands-on experience in a particular sector. Each team is guided by a sector head who leads discussions about markets, provides training, and facilitates idea generation and pitch construction. For the 2026–2027 academic year, UIG will have four investment groups: Technology, Media & Telecom (TMT), Industrials, Healthcare, and Financials.
Our training program is built to bridge the gap between academic finance coursework and the market knowledge and technical skills expected in finance recruiting. Coursework emphasizes valuation and accounting principles, supported by regular office hours, and prepares members for roles in investment banking, equity research, and sales & trading. Members also have the opportunity to compete in investing competitions.
UIG has also served as a pipeline for members into opportunities such as IBIS, the ASU SIM Fund, ASU Enterprise Partners, and the REIT Portfolio Practicum.
UIG welcomes motivated students from any major — no prior finance knowledge is required to apply.
